Thursday, 23 rd October, 2014 will remain one bright day of Saudi Journal of Obesity. In the morning of that day, his Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Khalid Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud Governor of Aseer region and Honorary President of Saudi Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (SASMBS) launched the official website of Saudi Journal of Obesity.

During that nice day, the President of the SASMBS and the editor in chief of Saudi medical journal listened to advices and guidance of his Royal Highness regarding development of the journal to become one of the leading journals in the field of obesity globally. His Royal Highness promised us to introduce his maximum effort to support the activities of the society including the journal in order to attain the mission and the objectives of the society.

As editorial board, we believe that his Royal Highness words will be the fuel and catalyst that will motivate us to conduct professional work, which maintain the high standards of the journal and make it one of the important sources of education and research in the field of obesity in the region, and meet the highest expectations of our readers all over the world.

Finally, we introduce our deep thanks and appreciation to his Royal Highness for his continuous guidance and support.
